How fit do you need to be for a 2 day tour?
Moderate to challenging depending on the cave. Hang En is a trek with river crossings; Hang Pygmy and Tiger Cave add abseiling; Tu Lan adds swimming. You don't need to be an athlete, just reasonably fit.
How far in advance should I book a 2 day cave tour?
Hang En and Hang Pygmy fill up 1 to 3 months ahead in the Jan-Apr dry season. Tiger Cave and Tu Lan are usually bookable 1 to 3 weeks out. If your dates are fixed, book as soon as you've got flights.
Is there an age limit on the overnight cave camps?
Most 2-day cave camps set a minimum age of 16, with Hang En sometimes accepting 14 with a parent. There's no hard upper limit if you pass the fitness brief; we've seen plenty of people in their 60s on Hang En and Hang Pygmy.
