Is Phong Nha good for families?

Which caves can kids do?
Phong Nha Cave and Paradise Cave suit all walking ages. Dark Cave is good fun from around six (with a zipline weight limit). Elephant Cave works from age eight as a real jungle day. The overnight expedition caves are for older teens and adults only.
Are family discounts standard on Phong Nha tours?
Most operators offer a child rate (usually 50 to 75 percent of adult) for ages 5 to 11, and under-5s often free if they share a seat. The self-guided caves charge a reduced or free ticket for under-1.3m height. Private family transfers usually price by car, not per head.
What should families do before and after the caves?
Build in a slow day at the Duck Stop or Wild Boar Eco Farm, and an afternoon swim at Mooc Spring or Nuoc Mooc kayaking. The countryside cycle through Bong Lai valley breaks up cave days nicely. Avoid back-to-back trekking days with under-10s.
